Loved by thousands, hated by millions . . .

In the greatest B-movie of all time, Deathrace 2000, Sylvester Stallone plays a character with the enviable name of Machine Gun Joe Viterbo who is introduced to a jeering arena of spectators with one of the most underrated lines in all of cinema: “Here he comes! Machine Gun Joe! Loved by thousands, hated by millions!”

That’s the essence of freedom, folks.

When you’re loved, you are held to a gold standard that no human being can really live up to. When you’re hated, almost anything you get up to is fully expected of you. If the governor fucks a hooker, it’s a story that makes the front page of all the newspapers; but if the governor’s gardener fucks a hooker, it’s hardly even a story to tell your friends at work.

The good man—or, at least, the man who is thought to be good—is not free to tell the truth. He has to worry about what the neighbors will think, what the papers will think, what his golf buddies will think. How will they look at him when he goes to his favorite Mexican restaurant? How will they treat him in the checkout line at the grocery store? He can’t tell the truth. He can only parrot one of two or three socially acceptable positions on any given subject matter.

The bad man—or, at least, the man who is thought to be bad—is not similarly constrained. He can tell the truth all day long because he doesn’t give a fuck what the neighbors think. The papers don’t report what he says or does. He doesn’t play any faggoty games like golf. He is used to getting nasty looks wherever he goes. He knows that people don’t approve of him or the way he lives his life. He can tell the truth. He can and he will.

And he’s about to, so strap the fuck in.

The best B-movie ever made is Evil Dead, hands down.

I could never figure out the point scoring in Death Race 2000. Why give more points for the elderly? Surely the young and fit would be harder to hit and deserve to get you more points.

It's all very true, and I witness this phenomenon in the smallest of ways. For instance, at my school, it's expected of the hot, popular girls to get laid, and people are overjoyed with the opportunity to call her a "ho", but when a lesser-known (i.e. "bad person" or "freak") gets laid, and people find out about it... usually nobody cares.

Just trying to relate.

You should read MY blog. Just click on my name if you're interested.
You may find most of my entries interesting (except the girly ones), and I recommend "Strangers".
If you do read, comment. Please.
Like you, I also like attention.

When the truth is told by someone whom nobody listens to...

You don't fit this though. Your celebrity comes with acceptable and almost compulsory bad behaviour.

The more animals you fornicate with the better. Then tell your truths... they will listen.

I dont see how someone can assume they are the "bad man". Often you will get a sad bastard who, rejected by society, compensates for his lacks in his social life by a label that makes him seem a "badass". I dont think thats you since your ideas are so widely accepted by your fans. Hell, half of the crazy christians might hate you, but an equal amount of them ignore you and some may even like your ideas. Too many people dont give a fuck enough to pass any judgement on you so, why do you place some sort of social stigma upon yourself?

I would have to say that that was a kick ass intro blog. Had a nice structure to it and built up well. Congratulations.
Also, I posted a question for your "ask me a question" and it went unanswered (or maybe I am retarded and missed it). Anyway, I believe that the question was more interesting than "Bath or Shower" type questions, so I'm going to ask it again here. I really would like to know your response to it, but I guess it's your choice whether you respond or not.

Is freedom more important than survival? Is it ever OK for a government to limit people's freedoms in order for the human race to survive. For example, if mass starvation due to overpopulation was an issue, would it be alright to do as China are doing and limit the number of babies being killed. And I do realise that the law was designed to do this with direct things like murder and theft, but if a government were to take this to it's fullest extent they would make it so that no crimes COULD be committed and then so that anyone who opposed them was a criminal and then you have quite a problematic situation. But then if you give people freedom to do whatever they want, you still have a problem, as not everyone has an "acceptable" moral code. I guess the question could be rephrased as: should a government be allowed to limit the freedoms of an individual, such as in the case of crimes today.

I hope you respond, but doubt it quite sincerely.

It is regrettable that a person is called 'bad' when they speak the truth.
People have the insane notion of what the truth OUGHT to be, which they consider more important than what the truth actually is.
As such, they hate anyone who assualts their ignorance with facts.

Good idea with the ads. All of them were christian related which I found a little ironic.

Kudos man, good luck with this.

Hey, I hear you, and would like to discuss your thoughts. My thoughts are kinda like the following song, i don't know that we can go ebony and ivory though. it might be a lot of gray areas when we start talking about it. maybe so fluctuations of color.

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord, why dont we?
We all know that people are the same where ever we go
There is good and bad in evryone,
We learn to live, we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive together alive.

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord why dont we?

Ebony, ivory living in perfect harmony
Ebony, ivory, ooh

We all know that people are the same where ever we go
There is good and bad in evryone,
We learn to live, we learn to give
Each other what we need to survive together alive.

Ebony and ivory live together in perfect harmony
Side by side on my piano keyboard, oh lord why dont we?

It really disturbs me how so many people equate good presentation to good moral character. They don't make the distinction between image and substance. Really fucking stupid.

Hi, Tj. Very straight forward. Hmmmm, if I'm thinking the letter 'A' and you the same. Who owns it?. Would it not be.. the unknown or an illusion.

"Should a government be allowed to limit the freedoms of an individual, such as in the case of crimes today"

Of course. If everyone was given complete freedom, then the immoral would have more power than the moral because they are not as restricted in their actions. Laws places restrictions on these people who don't have it 'internally'.

The real issue is how far governments should be allowed to go. Of course, going all the way is not ideal.

Yes yes jolly good old boy. As a member of the British aritocracy I always keep a stiff upper lip and try to set a good example to the surfs, I mean working class. Know your place I say and don't get ideas above your station what. I always tell the truth, except that time with the shotgun and the butler......
